I mean, compared to a ciswoman, a transwoman is a borderline superhero. Unless they started transitioning at age 5, they're going to have an unfair biological advantage.

It's unfair to transwomen and I hate that. (Life's already been unfair to them by sticking them in the wrong body from the get-go.) But if there's legitimately no way to level the playing field for everyone, then it's better to be unfair to a few than to be unfair to the majority of athletes.

Ive always been a huuuuge Godzilla fan but for some reason have never been able to get into Ultraman or the dozens of other similar things that *should* be up my alley. I did pick up the recent Mill Creek (I think?) Ultra Q and Ultraman, but havent watched yet (although had seen some previously).

Id love a proper Zone Fighter release in NA, though.

Yes, pink being girly has gotten to be a bit cliche, but it's gone too far in the opposite direction. Today, people treat pink almost like it's the female version of blackface. Lighten up already, it's just an outfit color. There's only one power ranger that need be made fun of for the color of their costume and that's the white power ranger.

I will say this much, I hope they've learned their lesson when it comes to the name game. If you're going to change characters, just make them original characters. It worked for Star Trek. Hell, the whole Americanized Power Rangers concept was taking a Japanese show (Super Sentai) and replacing the unmasked heroes with new characters.

Jurassic Park > Fallen Kingdom > Jurassic World > Lost World > JPIII

Fallen Kingdom has the best cast and best use of dinosaurs outside of the first movie. It has some crazy ideas which are divisive for a lot of people, but it feels like a return to form if you following the pacing and characterization rather than the questionable content.

Jurassic World was fun on its initial viewing, mostly due to the two protagonists, but it doesn't hold up on repeat showings. Too much screentime is eaten up by that silly-looking zombie dinosaur and nothing really happens until the fight at the end.

The Lost World over-exposed the tyrannosaurus at the expense of other dinosaurs. It further robbed the T.rex of its power by having it unceremoniously shot and captured by Roland. The cast is also lacking with only one memorable new addition. There are some good moments, but the filmmakers were really phoning it in.

JPIII... When you give Barney the Dinosaur a cameo in earnest, there is no potential for your film to be good. Add in a talking dream raptor, a velociraptor hostage negotiation (which isn't a dream), and an uninteresting successor to the tyrannosaurs and you're in for a bad time. There's a certain spoiler that makes me want to flip over a table. Let's just say I've waited nearly two decades for a certain rematch and, no, shattering a skeleton doesn't count.

On the plus side, the original is great. I've seen it six times on the silver screen alone. It never gets old. Not ever.

Resident Evil does a good job of having strong and resourceful women while still presenting an overall intimidating environment for them to try and navigate their way through. I can see how the studio imposing a submissive girl who looks like a 14 year old Audrey Hepburn would be annoying.
